About the Work 

Rowan is an original hand-built ceramic portrait from the Collared Souls collection.

The series explores identity, individuality and the quiet roles we wear throughout our lives. Each exaggerated collar frames a unique personality, encouraging the viewer to look beyond appearance and connect with character instead.

Every Sculpted Soul is individually hand built in stoneware clay by Sean Bishop. Surfaces are finished using coloured slips before being protected with a clear glaze, which is carefully wiped back by hand to reveal the texture beneath. No moulds are used, ensuring every sculpture is entirely unique.
