Elias doesn't need to command attention; it naturally settles upon him. His steady gaze and generous collar create an air of quiet confidence, suggesting someone who listens carefully before choosing their words.

Hand-built in stoneware clay, Elias is part of Sean Bishop's developing Collared Souls collection. The series explores identity, individuality and the subtle presence each person carries. Distinctive collars unite the collection while allowing every Soul to express its own unique character.

Each sculpture is individually hand-built using stoneware clay, coloured with slips, and finished with a clear glaze that is carefully wiped back to preserve the tactile qualities of the clay and the evidence of the maker's hand. No two Souls are ever the same.

Rather than depicting a specific individual, Elias exists between portrait and imagination, inviting each viewer to bring their own memories, emotions and stories to the work.
