Iris carries a quiet presence that draws people in. Thoughtful and observant, she seems to pause before every decision, finding beauty in moments that others might overlook. Her sculpted collar frames a calm expression, while her steady gaze invites a moment of reflection.

Hand-built in stoneware clay, Iris is part of Sean Bishop's developing Collared Souls collection. The series explores identity, individuality and the subtle presence each person carries. Distinctive collars unite the collection while allowing every Soul to express its own unique character.

Each sculpture is individually hand-built using stoneware clay, coloured with slips, and finished with a clear glaze that is carefully wiped back to preserve the tactile qualities of the clay and the evidence of the maker's hand. No two Souls are ever the same.

Rather than portraying a specific individual, Iris exists somewhere between portrait and imagination, encouraging each viewer to discover their own story and emotional connection within the work.
